Following the untimely death of George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter movement surged throughout America and even took over the mainstream media. There were protests all over the country as statues were toppled, demands were made, and there were also discussions to defund the police. The movement gained significant support from the Democrats and also President Joe Biden, who entertained them during the 2020 election. But now, after numerous scandals surrounding BLM founders and how funds were spent, it seems the movement has been marooned on a $6 million compound in Los Angeles. As for how the public views the movement, for one Honolulu resident he’s currently fighting local officials to keep the license plate “FCKBLM.”
That’s right, back in August of 2021, as shown in the video below, a Hawaii man decided to get a tag made with “FCKBLM” on it. Surprisingly, he wasn’t stopped by city officials while making the plate. But after receiving many complaints from residents and supporters of BLM, city authorities recalled the tag. The only problem, the individual has yet to release the license plate and continues to drive around with it on.

Honolulu’s Department of Customer Services released a statement claiming they have sent several letters to the owner, but nothing has happened. “We have sent three letters to the registered owner recalling the license plate. However, the registered owner has failed to surrender the plate. CSD has placed a hold on further renewals of his vehicle registration, and his registration is now expired. HPD is able to cite the vehicle if it is being operated on the roads.” They were sure to add that it was an “ill-advised oversight” on the city.
Since the plate went viral, with many supporting the meaning and others criticizing, city officials have moved to ban certain lettering like “FKN” or “FCK” to be used on any license plate. Users online wrote, “I don’t know why it should be recalled as it’s a perfectly accurate and appropriate expression and should be repeated everywhere!”
Another person added, “How does anyone other than the owner know what those letters stand for? It’s in your racist mind, not the owners until they hear him or her state what it means.”
And one person admitted, “The turdpiles of the left just can’t handle free speech. BLM was and is a money-laundering scam. The only black lives it cares about are the grifters that founded it.”
As for Black Lives Matter and what the future might hold for the once-powerful movement, it seems they are under the new leadership of 44-year-old Cicley Gay. She was named chair of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation back in April. According to the New York Post, she has filed for bankruptcy three times since 2005.
