Kyle Rittenhouse and his attorney recently appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight, where the teen who was acquitted back in 2021 during his highly-publicized murder trial detailed how he plans to take on Facebook and others for the defamatory statements made by the Big Tech platform and pundits in the media.
Most everyone is familiar with the Rittenhouse case that garnered national attention after he defended himself against three miscreants during an active riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, back in August of 2020.

Rittenhouse, who was 17-years-old at the time of the Kenosha riot, fatally shot two individuals and wounded one other, all of whom launched unprovoked attacks on the teen whilst he was in Kenosha trying to protect the property owned by a local businessman who’d already endured severe loss at the hands of rioters the day prior to the incident.
In the year-plus that ensued between Rittenhouse being charged for defending his life during that August 2020 riot and his acquittal in November of 2021, news media outlets and their respective pundits drummed up conspiracy theories that Rittenhouse was some kind of a white supremacists.
Meanwhile, Big Tech platforms like Facebook were labeling him as being associated with a mass murder and thus banned any commentary supporting Rittenhouse or his actions taken to defend himself.
Speaking with Tucker Carlson about the aftermath of the trial and the media reports that accompanied it, Rittenhouse stated that his life has been egregiously disrupted, largely due to how the media framed his actions from August of 2020.
“We’re going to make the media pay for what they did to me, they made it hard for me to live a normal life. I can’t go out into public, I can’t go to the store, it’s hard for me to go anywhere without security. Shoot, doing basic things like taking my dog to the dog park is difficult. So, they made it really difficult to be normal and they affected future job opportunities to me. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to work or get a job, because I’m afraid an employer may not hire me.”
Rittenhouse’s attorney chimed in during the interview, providing an example of what he considers to be among the defamatory statements spread by Facebook while Rittenhouse was enduring the criminal justice process.
“To answer your first question with regard to what we plan to do with the tech companies, of course we’re looking at those, and I think the first one I’m taking a look at is Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg announced in a videotape that what Kyle was involved in was a mass murder, and that’s clearly defamatory as well that’s not protected by Section 230 of the Communications and Decency Act.
“In my opinion, Section 230 allows you to take down violent things or things that people don’t want to hear, but telling the truth about Kyle is not something that Section 230 enabled Facebook to take down. So that’s an example of what we plan to do with tech.”
