There’s almost a sense of poetic irony that someone who was mockingly accused of campaigning for the presidency out of his basement is now spending roughly 40% of his time not occupying the office he campaigned for.
Not to mention, it’s hard to ignore how much flack former President Donald Trump received for him allegedly hitting the links for a round of golf “on at least 142 occasions” throughout his entire presidency, according to Forbes.
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel emphasized that Biden’s lack of being in office is going to serve as a sort of gift for Republicans come the 2022 midterms, saying, “Voters want Republicans, who actually show up to work, to dig America out of Biden’s recession, secure the southern border, and put an end to reckless spending of taxpayer dollars.”
McDaniel quipped that Democrats facing the chopping block in November may be able to have extra vacation time like the president already enjoys, adding, “Soon, Democrats will be able to join Biden on his weekly vacations when Americans vote them out in less than 70 days.”

Biden administration spokesperson Andrew Bates pushed back on the characterization of Biden’s frequent trips away from D.C., asserting that Biden is able to conduct his duties as president “from anywhere in the world.”
“Regardless of location, he has taken fewer vacation days than the modern norm. Being somewhere other than the White House is not the same thing as being on vacation.”
Bates claimed that even though Biden may not always be in the White House, even on his excursions, he’s allegedly working on “lowering costs for families” and “reducing the deficit to fight inflation” while tending to other aspects surrounding the American economy.
White House chief of staff Jen O’Malley Dillon recently parroted similar sentiments during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, addressing Biden’s frequent trips to Delaware with, “Any idea that there is a lot of downtime in this schedule is a fallacy.”
However, while the Biden administration asserts the aforementioned, Biden himself is largely not in the public eye whenever he’s gallivanting outside of Washington.
Additionally, as noted in a report from Infowars, Biden’s time away from office far exceeds that of his predecessors to this point of his presidency, with Trump venturing away from D.C. for 132 days, Obama for 38, and Bush for 100.
President of transparency group Judicial Watch Tom Fitton stated on the matter that, “One would hope that President Biden is working when he is on ‘vacation’ in Delaware,” but additionally acknowledged that “the unwillingness of the White House to disclose his official visitors at Delaware suggests that there is something to hide — including that Biden is completely checked out from his job when away from the White House.”
