In what could arguably serve as one of the silliest manifestations of being triggered over conservative politics and pundits, actress Jennifer Lawrence admitted in a recent interview with Vogue that she has recurring “nightmares” of Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
In this author’s youth, the sort of things that would give me nightmares would be the likes of horror movie monsters/characters, such as Pinhead or Tim Curry’s unsettling portrayal of Pennywise the Clown. As an adult, just about the only thing that gives me a spook is when tax season rolls around, and it’s time for me to dish out some cash that I know will be ill-spent by the government.

But neither in my youth or through my adulthood has there ever come a time where a news pundit caused a nightmare – but apparently, Tucker Carlson is just too scary for actress Jennifer Lawrence.
In an interview with Vogue slated to be published in October, the star from the successful “The Hunger Games” series (which savvy movie buffs know good and well was just a blatant ripoff of the 2000 Japanese film “Battle Royale”) admitted to Vogue writer Abby Aguirre that she’d been discussing “with her therapist the recurring nightmares she has about Tucker Carlson.”
Although it won’t be published fully until October, the interview between Aguirre and Lawrence reportedly occurred this past June, not long after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Aguirre wrote that Lawrence apparently harbors “disappointment” in “certain relatives back in Louisville, Kentucky, where she’d grown up, including her father,” due to them being conservative, adding that the “2016 election had torn open a rift in her family.”

Lawrence reportedly told Aguirre, “I just worked so hard in the last five years to forgive my dad and my family and try to understand: It’s different. The information they are getting is different. Their life is different.”
The actress asserted during the interview that she feels as though she can no longer associate “with people who aren’t political anymore,” with the usage of the term “political” clearly meaning in the context as someone who is politically liberal.
“I’ve tried to get over it and I really can’t. I can’t. I’m sorry I’m just unleashing, but I can’t fuck with people who aren’t political anymore. You live in the United States of America. You have to be political. It’s too dire. Politics are killing people.”
Lawrence apparently is still triggered over the results of the 2016 election, saying during the interview, “It breaks my heart because America had the choice between a woman and a dangerous, dangerous jar of mayonnaise. And they were like, ‘Well, we can’t have a woman. Let’s go with the jar of mayonnaise.’”
Considering the interview took place shortly after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Lawrence also weighed in on that matter by claiming that a return to states’ rights to determine abortion laws is somehow an affront to women’s “equality.”
“I don’t want to disparage my family, but I know that a lot of people are in a similar position with their families. How could you raise a daughter from birth and believe that she doesn’t deserve equality? How?”
