Milo Yiannopoulos, one of the right’s biggest breakthrough personalities in the mid-2010s who fell victim to the immense onslaught of cancel culture that started taking form throughout 2017 and 2018, is now working as an unpaid intern for Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Yiannopoulos confirmed the news to his followers on Telegram on June 6th, sharing a photo of his intern congressional credentials alongside a caption that read, “I’ve finally been persuaded out of retirement. But my skills are a bit rusty, so the best role I could land was an unpaid internship with a friend. Pray for me! Mummy always said I’d end up in government!”

Rep. Greene’s office has also confirmed the onboarding of Yiannopoulos as an intern.
In recent months, Yiannopoulos has been spotted at events where Rep. Greene was in attendance, most recently having been seen this past May backstage at an event where Rep. Greene was debating her primary opponents – standing beside Nick Dyer, Rep. Greene’s current communications director, and Joe Proenza, Rep. Greene’s reelection campaign manager.
Aside from criticisms and cancellations, Yiannopoulos endured from Democrats and progressives regarding his stances on Islam and modern feminism, he also faced heavy scrutiny from those on the right for comments made during a January 2016 podcast where he seemed to excuse pedophilia.
These comments were uttered on an episode of the Drunken Peasants podcast, where Yiannopoulos stated at the time, “Some of those relationships between younger boys and older men, the sort of coming-of-age relationships, the relationships in which those older men help those young boys to discover who they are and give them security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable and, sort of, a rock where they can’t speak to their parents.”
The aforementioned comments didn’t come to light until early 2017, however, Yiannopoulos addressed the controversy (after resigning from Breitbart amidst the chaos), claiming that his statements were taken out of context but also admitted to not using the best words to describe a sensitive topic. However, he asserted in his statement from February of 2017 that he’s in no way an advocate for pedophilia.
“[T]hese videos, even though some of them are edited deceptively, paint a different picture. I’m partly to blame. My own experiences as a victim led me to believe I could say anything I wanted to on this subject, no matter how outrageous. But I understand that my usual blend of British sarcasm, provocation and gallows humor might have come across as flippancy, a lack of care for other victims or, worse, ‘advocacy.’ I deeply regret that.”
It’s unclear what Rep. Greene plans to utilize Yiannopoulos for in her campaign efforts, but it will be interesting to see what he brings to the table.
