A hundred and fifty years ago, Virginia was a land of cavaliers and gentlemen. It was the state that gave us Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom. It gave us James Madison, the leading author of the Constitution itself. It gave us George Mason, the father of the Bill of Rights, which secured us the essential rights of freedom of speech, freedom of worship, and the right to bear arms. Virginia gave us America’s most famous and talented generals: George Washington, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee.
It’s a proud state with a proud history. But sadly, Virginia’s own excellence left it saddled with a great curse: It borders the capital of the country it helped make so great. And as that capital has grown, it has slowly destroyed the great state of Virginia.
The epicenter of this decay is Fairfax Country, which holds the outer suburbs of Washington D.C. In 1980, Fairfax County had six hundred thousand people, and it voted for Ronald Reagan by nearly thirty points. Today, Fairfax has 1.1 million people, and it voted for Joe Biden by forty points. That’s the impact of flooding D.C. with hundreds of thousands of parasites: Bureaucrats, regulators, lobbyists, lawyers, plus the low-wage immigrant labor, legal and illegal, who act as their servants. Fairfax County is why the Old Dominion is now a blue state. And thanks to that shift, life in Fairfax itself is becoming a radical left nightmare.
Last night, there was a school board meeting at a Fairfax middle school. The purpose of that meeting was to vote on rules that would punish students who refuse to submit to demonic transgender ideology, by refusing to use “preferred pronouns” or by “deadnaming” students who have undergone sex changes.
